@ The NeXus

A hub for innovation using the engineering design process and emerging technologies.

Mission

To foster a collaborative community founded on a culture of creativity and innovation that identifies issues, explores opportunities, and develops solutions using the engineering design process and emerging technologies.

Vision

Students from all disciplines working together to combine their unique expertise and perspectives under the guidance of experienced mentors to create new and effective solutions to the complex problems of our day.

Transdisciplinary, design, and innovation to confront the complex challenges of our day.

Our Facility

Picture

Collaboration Space

Our space is perfect for independent or collaborative work. The space will comfortably fit 25-30 individuals in the main collaboration space, and another 25-30 individuals in the classroom.
Picture

Design Lab

Our Design Lab provides high-end design computers with software for 3D and 2D design. Students can design their invention, and then send it to our 3D printers for prototyping.
Picture

Digital Fablab

Our Digital Fablab is home to several 3D printers to support prototyping and creative projects. It also features a Laser Cutter, Vacuum Former, Carvey CNC Machine, and Cricut machine.
Picture

Robotics and Electronics

Learn to build a robot with LEGO Mindstorms, LEGO SPIKE Prime, and or VEX to perform complex tasks and to solve problems. We also have Arduino and Raspberry Pi boards and kits to get you started on your first electronics project. We also have LittleBits, and other electronic equipment.

Classroom Space

Connected to our Collaboration Space is our Classroom space. This space will comfortably fit 25-30 individuals. This space is primarily used our Project Lead the Way-Gateway program which focuses on engineering and technology instruction, however, the space is flexible for other needs.

Video and Audio Recording

Coming during the summer of 2022, a green screen space with video and audio recording equipment. We also plan to add a NexGen podcast.

"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

- Albert Einstein
