Biography:
I am so excited to start on this innovative educational journey with your child!  Before being appointed as the Mathematics/STEM Teacher in the NexGen STEM Academy at Salisbury Middle School, I served as a 6th and 7th grade Mathematics teacher at Bennett Middle School.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Salisbury University in Elementary Education, minoring in middle school mathematics as well as art.  I am currently pursuing my Master of Science degree in Educational Administration and Leadership through Salisbury University and will be completing that degree soon.  I have served as an advisor to the National Junior Honor Society, coach of the Junior Mathematics League, and taught in after school programs for English Language Learners as well as project MOVE.  Currently, I am the advisor of the Salisbury Middle Math Club and the coach of our MathCounts! competition team, which will compete in Regional competitions in March.  I also serve as co-chair of the Salisbury Middle Social Committee, focusing on improving staff morale and appreciation.
I love to engage students in my class with a high level of hands-on engagement, problem-based learning, and real-world applications.  The mathematics that students master will strengthen their understanding of the topics that they learn in their other classes.  Units are designed to align with cross-curricular topics, enhance the technology lessons through Project Lead the Way, and develop college and career ready learners.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy watching movies, reading, crafting, and spending time with my 15 nieces and nephews.  I have a large family and consider all my students to be a part of that group, too!
